The Florida Peer Support Association is committed to transforming the peer support network statewide by promoting, supporting and advocating for peer support in Florida.
We believe in diversity, acceptance, advocacy and empowerment while encouraging people to transform their lives.
The Florida Peer Support Association supports the people and organizations doing the work of peer support by facilitating networking opportunities and education on recovery. We promote wellness, personal growth and self-determination for people who have experienced mental illness, alcohol or drug addiction, chronic illness, or trauma by providing social opportunities, education, and community involvement.
We believe that everyone who offers peer support to others deserves support too. FPSA offers this support. We provide trainings and education about peer support and recovery, and we help create peer support networking groups. We also advocate for the needs of people who provide peer support.
Many of our members are Certified Peer Specialists who provide peer support professionally in mental health agencies. However, it is not necessary to be a Certified Peer Specialist to join FPSA. We welcome anyone who uses their own recovery experiences to support others, has an interest in recovery, or supports the concepts of peer support to join.
